At UTurn, we believe your privacy is a fundamental human right, not a product to be sold. Our platform is built on a simple rule: what we don’t collect can never be lost, leaked, stolen, or sold. Because our system is built to avoid gathering your data in the first place, we don’t just protect your information—we remove your digital footprint entirely.

1. What We Never Do

To be completely open and clear, here are the boundaries we never cross:

  • No Lifestyle Files: We never track your screen time, scrolling habits, or interests to build a profile on you.
  • No Ads or Data Selling: We run a 100% ad-free app. We never sell, lease, or share your details with data brokers or marketing teams.
  • No Mobile Data or SMS Sharing: We do not require or collect phone numbers for account registration. However, to the extent any mobile data is ever transmitted to us (such as if you contact our support team via text), no mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
  • No rented Big-Tech Clouds: We do not rent virtual server space from Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. All connection routes execute on physical, bare-metal server equipment that we own inside secure data centers.

2. The Minimum Data We Handle

To run a fast, reliable communication app, UTurn only touches the absolute minimum data points required to deliver your messages and keep calls clear.

A. Your Account Details

  • What we handle: A verified email address.
  • How it works: We completely detach your account from your physical SIM card or cell carrier. Once you confirm your email, our system assigns you a random UTurn account number so your real phone identity stays hidden.

B. Private 1-on-1 Messages & Calls

  • What we handle: Encrypted texts, voice data, and video calls.
  • How it works: Your personal texts and calls are securely scrambled directly on your device. Our physical equipment acts like a blind mail carrier—holding the scrambled message block only until your friend comes online, and then wiping it out completely the exact microsecond it lands safely on their phone.

C. Group Chats

  • What we handle: Group text messages and media.
  • How it works: To protect our network from being used for illegal exploitation or criminal abuse, group chats are not scrambled on both ends. Group conversations run over secure connections and are never saved or monitored during regular use, but they are kept open to automated scanning tools to protect human safety.

D. The Local Map (The Connect Feature)

  • What we handle: Your temporary location coordinates, a friendly nickname, and a profile picture.
  • How it works: Connect only runs when you turn it on manually. It never tracks your location in the background. Your coordinates are shared with our equipment only while the map view is open, and your radar is strictly limited to a small 2-mile circle to let you spot people nearby.
  • Safety & Storage: To protect our users during real-world interactions, location points are kept in a short-term security window to ensure safety accountability. Once you close the map and this brief safety window clears, your temporary location data is completely wiped from our equipment.

3. Keeping the Network Safe from Spam

To keep our systems fast and prevent automated robot accounts, marketing scripts, and telemarketing spam from flooding the app, our equipment monitors basic, automated numbers (like the total count of data packets sent per account).

Because we do not store connection logs, save history trails, or tie accounts to real SIM card numbers, it is impossible for us to use these basic safety numbers to build a social map or track your real lifestyle.

4. Deleting Your Data

You retain complete ownership over your account data:

  • Local Controls: Your personal chat logs are saved safely on your own phone inside an isolated, secure database.
  • Permanent Deletion: You can delete your account from the app settings at any time. When you tap delete, your email address, your account connection codes, and any profile pictures are instantly and permanently erased from our servers forever.

5. Global Privacy Rules

Because UTurn is designed from day one to avoid gathering your details, we naturally fulfill global data protection laws by default. Because our servers operate on a zero-history system, we do not have records, location logs, or relationship history charts to hand over to any corporate or legal entities under access requests. We cannot share what we do not have.
