Connect Radar: Meet People Nearby
An opt-in, 2-mile local radar designed for face-to-face meetups. Zero background GPS tracking—it only activates when you turn it on, and clears when you close it.
Meet Your Community within Walking Distance
Connect is built to move interactions from digital screens into physical spaces. Instead of endless feeds and algorithmic recommendations, Connect gives you a lightweight, local radar to coordinate casual meetups with people within walking distance.
-
Manual Control: Location updates only when you open the radar and set it to active. There is zero background tracking while the app is closed.
-
Separate Profile: Your primary account details remain hidden. The radar uses a dedicated profile with a chosen nickname and photo.
How the Neighborhood Map Works
Local discovery without movement history or advertising logs.
Explicit Activation
Your location is only sent to our servers when you switch Connect to "Active." Closing the map or turning the switch off immediately halts updates.
Isolated Profiles
Your email and private chat ID stay decoupled from the radar. You participate on the map using a separate nickname profile you create specifically for local discovery.
Strict 2-Mile Boundary
Connect is strictly limited to a 2-mile radius, keeping the scope practical for walking-distance meetups rather than long-distance tracking.
Zero Route Storage
Coordinates are processed solely to calculate proximity at that moment. We do not store movement histories, trace daily routes, or share location data with third parties.
Responsible Local Coordination
Meeting in person requires practical safety considerations. To protect users while preventing abusive behavior, active location data is held in an ephemeral memory window only while the radar is running.
The moment you turn off the radar or exit the screen, your coordinates are removed from memory.
Physical Safety.
True Privacy.
Technology should support real-world relationships without profiling your life. By keeping local radar simple and manual, UTurn helps you discover what is around you while leaving your personal data untouched.
