Most modern apps rent virtual space from massive cloud computing corporations. If those large tech companies experience an outage, change their corporate policies, or have a security issue, the apps running on them are left completely vulnerable.
UTurn takes a completely different path. We purchase, own, and run physical server hardware ourselves.
Our Core Rule: We do not rent virtual servers from commercial cloud monopolies. Everything runs on physical bare-metal hardware under our direct administration. If you do not control the machine, you cannot guarantee its privacy.
Physical Security & Hardware Custody
Our equipment is housed within high-security data centers. This setup gives us total custody and control over our network:
- Physical Access Security: Our machines are secured in restricted data center facilities protected by biometric entry controls, continuous monitoring, and redundant power infrastructure.
- Strict Digital Custody: While the facility provides raw power and network connectivity, only the UTurn engineering team has administrative access to the operating systems. Facility personnel cannot inspect our drives or access internal routing.
- No Third-Party Hypervisors: By running directly on bare metal without commercial virtualization layers, we avoid the automated telemetry, snapshotting, and background logging standard on public cloud platforms.
Zero Intrusion
Because our systems run on our own hardware, we do not need to cut corners or compromise your device. UTurn does not ask for access to your address book or phone contacts. We don’t build social graphs, track relationships, or monitor connection patterns.
Our infrastructure exists for one purpose: to relay encrypted messages and establish direct voice and video calls reliably, then get out of the way. We don’t rent our integrity from the cloud.
