Understanding Message Delivery Indicators on UTurn

When you send a message in UTurn, you’ll see a small delivery indicator icon on your message bubble. This indicator lets you know what stage your message is in — from the moment it leaves your device to the moment it’s seen by the recipient.

Here’s what each icon means:

Processing

Icon:
What it means: The message is being prepared on your device. This step is usually very quick.

📤 Sending

Icon:
What it means: Your message is being sent from your device to UTurn’s servers. If there’s a temporary issue (like a weak connection), the app will automatically retry sending in this state — no action needed.

Sent

Icon:
What it means: The message has successfully reached UTurn's servers. It's now queued for delivery to the recipient.

📬 Delivered

Icon:
What it means: The message has been delivered to the recipient’s device. It’s on their phone, ready to be read.

👁️ Read (Seen)

Icon:
What it means: The recipient has opened the chat and viewed your message.
📝 Note: Read receipts only work if both users have read receipts enabled. If either of you has turned them off, you won’t see “Read” indicators.

🚫 Failed

Icon:
What it means: The app was unable to send the message, and it will not be retried automatically.
This can happen if the message repeatedly failed to send during the “Sending” stage.

What to do: Tap the message to try sending it again manually.
